Recognize ♒ Aquarius
Two parallel zigzag lines make the Aquarius glyph easy to recognize. Despite its water-like image and the water-bearer name, Aquarius belongs to the air category in the Western classification used in this course.
In the Western tropical framework used here, Aquarius is a air sign with a fixed modality. A sign is a named division of the astrological zodiac. It is not the same thing as a modern astronomical constellation, and it does not describe a whole person by itself.
Understand the grouping
Aquarius combines air’s ideas-and-exchange vocabulary with fixed continuity. A study prompt could concern a shared principle that a group tries to maintain. This does not prove originality, detachment or a particular political outlook in an individual.
Compare Aquarius with Gemini. Both are air signs, but Aquarius is fixed and Gemini mutable. Contrast maintaining a shared idea with adapting the language used to explain that idea to a new audience.
Try a notebook exercise
Imagine a volunteer team adopting a rule that everyone should be able to contribute. Write one practical arrangement that supports the principle and one question that would reveal whether the arrangement works for the people involved.
Finish by copying the glyph beside the sign name, element and modality. Separate the label you can identify from the meaning you are exploring. If an interpretation does not fit your experience, keep that disagreement in your notes rather than forcing a match.
