Recognize ♐ Sagittarius
The Sagittarius glyph is an arrow rising diagonally, crossed by a short stroke. It is associated with the archer. Follow the direction of the arrow to distinguish it from other chart marks and aspect symbols.
In the Western tropical framework used here, Sagittarius is a fire sign with a mutable modality. A sign is a named division of the astrological zodiac. It is not the same thing as a modern astronomical constellation, and it does not describe a whole person by itself.
Understand the grouping
Sagittarius combines the fire vocabulary of enthusiasm with mutable exploration. A useful question is how an idea changes when placed in a wider context. This does not establish that someone is adventurous, truthful or suited to a particular way of life.
Compare Sagittarius with Aries. Both are fire signs, but Sagittarius is mutable and Aries cardinal. Contrast exploring what a project might become with committing to its first concrete step.
